Some girls want diamonds and jewels galore...

I'd rather the Architectural Salvage store!! For our 23rd anniversary, Rog and I decided to spend the weekend at our little cottage in Dana Point and make a venture here- The Architectural Salvage of San Diego. I couldn't WAIT to get in there and do some digging :)

What a cool place. They carry doors, windows, sinks, hardware and all the what nots a restoration nut like myself would be looking for.

I mean seriously? Who wouldn't be looking for their very own St. Bonaventure to grace their back yard? And yes, I was honestly contemplating him. He's just so adorable doncha think?

And this awesome door header? The goose or duck or whatever is kinda cool.

And back plates ( or whatever they're called) by the zillions!

I really just wanted the green box these handles were sitting in...

And there he is... my prince charming, loading up the loot. Ah yes, came home with 3 five panel doors for the inside of the house.

And this beaut for my laundry room. The pic doesn't show the awesomeness of the perfect green chippy paint...me really loves :)

But the big prize???? These 2 mantels. PERF for my living room and master bedroom!!! Can't wait to sit by them on the 4 nights that it's actually cold enough in AZ. for a real fire... :) but who cares right??? Their Gorg!!! (that's short for gorgeous:)

Oh yeah, and the children I left behind :( that's what I call the things that you don't get and your heart tugs at you the whole way home :( no worries, if these babies are there when I return in the next couple of months - their MINE!!!

My favorite house I could never live in... :(

Cause I'd have to be 2 inches tall!! I've always loved dollhouses since I was a little girl. I dreamed of one day being able to create what I always envisioned as the perfect little world. That one day came about 3 years ago. I walked into my favorite dollhouse store, and weeks later brought my little dreamy home, home :) She's complete with walnut floors, Shumacher wallpaper (yes, they make it for dollhouses!) electrified chandeliers, Bespaq furniture, and Reutter porcelain bathrooms! Enjoy the tour... :)

Most of the food in the dollhouse was created by my neice Shea, so talented! And she's 13 !!

Oh yeah, and Shea made the bedding and rugs for me too!!

And this little sweetie? She's the dollhouse keeper. She lovingly and tenderly is keeping watch of my treasure in her bedroom until my house is complete and I can bring it home. Thanks Miss :)

Quality vs. Quantity???

Oh just look at her! I love her, covet her, want her soooo bad for my bathroom! She's from Porcher, and she's around $2000.000!!!!!!!! I showed her to my hubby and his response was "are you smoking crack"??? To which I replied, "Well yes of course I am, the very same crack I was smoking when I walked into Nordstrom one day and came home with a pair of $795 Valentino shoes"!!!! He sooo didn't see the humor in that one :(

So, while I was checking out this blog, I came across someone having the same problem! They found this sink! At a mere $350 it seems like a no brainer. I mean that would mean Shumacher wallpaper, and a vintage chandelier and all the other goodies that such a budget friendly sink would afford me! GEEZ! I don't know??? Your thoughts???

Well it started out as a good week... :(

Last week the hubby thought maybe our single chicken was looking quite lonely. So he brought this sweet little chic home! Wallace LOVES her :) and I must say she is quite taken with him too!

Thursday I took a trip to Lizabel's Treasures. I found this cute little medicine cabinet and wooden box. Oh so happy!
Friday I picked up this faux (bummer I know) chocolate cake from Domestic Bliss. Kristin is having a huge sale, getting ready for a whole new bunch of goodies, so git while the gittins good ladies!

Theeeeen, Come Saturday?? I swear I have the swine flu, or maybe SARS or maybe the black lung? Whatever- I seriously NEVER get sick and this cold hit me hard!! :( So, I'm drinking a lot of this,

And snuggling a lot with this, and trying to get better :)

Go granny, go granny, go granny Go!!

Is she the cutest little granny cart in the world?? I thought so too :) I found her at this sweet little store in San Clemente, CA a few weeks back for $15 !!! Sadly, granny had lost a little bit of her beauty :(
But look at her now!!! A little burlap ribbon and a big ole green flower and she's back!!

I love her :) she faithfully carries my goodies from the farmers market every Friday. And yes, she has many admirers! She's old but she's strong! She sings this sweet little squeaky song the whole way home, and I love it :)

This is just some of what came home with me last Friday: fennel, romaine lettuce, lemons, arugula, purple onions, leeks, and salmon. All organic of course!
And oh yes! These beautiful eggs. Our sweet single chicken just can't keep up so I've had to buy them. The colors are amazing, and the taste of fresh eggs is like no other :)
So please people, support your local farmers :) it's good for them and especially good for you!

They're here! They're finally FREAKING here!!!

I know it doesn't look like much to you, but these plans mean the WORLD to me!!!!

It seems like it's been a lifetime since our first meeting with our architect to draw plans for the restoration of our 1916 bungalow. After passing historic review (twice) and the city, we finally have our fully approved, officially stamped, yes you can finally build it, no more waiting, put on a happy face plans!!! Such a great day :)

This is my happy face and my hot contractor ( I hate taking pictures for your crazy "column") hubby. The concrete guy starts tomorrow and framing will soon follow!! We're hoping to be in by October. How fantastic would it be to have a Halloween party in our (rumored to be) haunted house!! :)

Yep, even the fridge... :)

I'm a kook for organization. I like things neat and straight, it just makes me happy!

But seriously???? What in the world happened here??? I couldn't take it any longer.

So, I bought some baskets at Home Goods and these nifty little chalkboards and paint pen at JoAnns and WENT TO TOWN!!!

I mean really, it took me all of 5 minutes to write on these and hot glue them on! And here's the result! I know!! Makes me smile every time I open the fridge... :)

Oh and these beautiful eggs? Came from my hardworking little chicken. We started out with 3 and now are down to 1 :( God bless her.
