Progress..... :)

This last long lovely weekend, the hubby and  I spent most of it at the newbie:) I'm not a red person. Okay, shoes maybe:) but not my front door. Soooo.....

I made me a trip to The Color Wheel, it's my local Ben Moore paint store:) Jim told me about this fab new paint that just came out. It's a primer and paint in one. It's pricey at $65 a gallon. I was starving and about 5 minutes from suffering from heat stroke- the perfect combination to sucker me into trying this stuff:)  I went with the HC-166 Kendall Charcoal.

And I love it!! I have to say, Jim was right about that stuff! It's amazing paint:) The hubby hung the porch swing that I will not be sitting in until it cools down, which is around Halloween:(

Speaking of having way too much Halloween crap... the hubby spent most of the weekend closing in this little garage. We need the storage! Okay, I need the storage. I have too many seasonal decorations!... said no woman ever!!

The new garage and the entire inside of the newbie will be painted this week:)

Oh! And the hubby pulled this wall out of the old garage and was about to throw it away. That is until I laid eyes on it and saved it from it's sure death at the landfill.

I have no idea what I'm going to do with it yet, but the wood is sooo cool! Headboard maybe??
Your thoughts??

Footprints....:)

So this last weekend we got to work on our new place:) The hubby hung a new porch light:) And I'm thinking I'm going to paint the front door a dark grey. Oh how I love this old screen door! It does that crrreak, slap shut noise!! Me so happy:)

I ordered this cute porch swing! I've always wanted a porch swing, and this porch has the perfect spot for it!! I ordered it from here, it's on sale right now for $204!!

And since the temps here are hovering around a hundred and hell,  I went inside and painted this table. I don't really know if I'll end up using it, I might have the hubby do a built- in bench thing so I can get a square table. It's a tiny house so every inch of space is at a premium!! (oooh and check out that lovely original built-in in the background!)

The hubby hung this light in the bathroom. Cute huh?
After admiring his handiwork, I walked back into the kitchen to see this.....

My sons stinkin cat checkin out MY handiwork!! UGH!!! Wet paint+cat=

Footprints. I had to laugh:)

I'm a roll with it kinda gal. I ain't repainting. Nope. I'm leaving those little footprints right there. So you know, if I decide against using this table and you just so happen to come across it at Goodwill? You'll know exactly where it came from:)

Practice makes perfect......:)

Patience. Ohhh boy. Such a hard thing for me. I was seriously about to go all Veruka Salt the other day. Daddy! I want a house NOW!!!!!!! and since nothing like this little beaut is available, I'm going to have to practice some patience:( Gulp.

My son up and decided to move to Cali a few weeks back:( sniff sniff...aaaand he just so happens to own this cutest 1930 bungalow just a few blocks away for our house! Perfect! He needed a renter, and we needed a house! Renting from our son? Weird, but okay!! God always has a plan, and sometimes it's a funny one:)

So this is where we will plant some temporary roots. I can't WAIT to get my hands on this place!! It's got sooo many adorable original features. And since he trusts his mama completely, (he has to, he has no choice!) he gave me full licence to beautify!! (again, no choice.) I kid!! Not really:)

When I look at this cutie, I can't help but think that I did something right in raising that boy! He loves oldies just like his mama:)
I drove away singing this to myself:
Mamas don't let yer babies grow up to...........buy ugly houses.

Bravery.....:)

Bravery is being the only one who knows you're afraid. ~Franklin P. Jones

Sooo my weekend in DP was a little hotter than I wanted it to be:( stinkin heatwave! they need to stay in Arizona where people are prepared and have this thing called AIR CONDITIONING!! Anyway, while I was there I witnessed some people doing things that conjured up one word- Brave.
I cut 10 inches off my hair.

Juuuuust kidding!! I was coloring the greys that I'm not brave enough to show in public, when this girl came in and chopped off her beloved hair to donate to Locks of Love. It was truly amazing.
Brave.

When we got to DP, it was already getting dark so I didn't know what my very eccentric neighbor had been up to. Until I woke up. And saw this. Yes, he painted the trunk of his tree.....

to match his garage doors. I must mention that his licence plate says Odd Bob. Ummm ok.
Verrrry brave.

The hubby drove us straight into this storm on our way home back to AZ. He drives with one hand. Me verrry scared. Him verrry brave.

And I'll just end this post by saying, she's sold! To the first person that saw her:) It was love at first sight I'm thinkin!!
So selling your house without knowing where in the sam heck you're going??

BRAVE!!

I've got my eye on you.... :)

It's beyond hot here in AZ.  Like seriously brain melting hot. So hot I can't think. Of anything to write about. Nothin. I've been spending my days in a pool. Of my own sweat. Not good. Sooo I say, when in doubt- blog about..
Wallace:)

I just happened to come across a bunch of pics that I had on my phone. I noticed a pattern.... Wallace likes to do a lot of one eye starin...

They say you can't lose a Frenchie, because they're always under your feet.

Or in my case, staring at you from around every corner.

This particular one is my fav. He sits and waits patiently for me to do the nod with my head thing, to see if he's going to get to go to work with me.

This is the pitiful half of a face I get when he can't go:(

And here's the sad face I see when I drive away. I always sing to myself- Saaad eyes, turn the other way, I don't want to see you cry-i-i.....
Pleeeease tell me you remember that tear jerker song from Robert John -1979??

If not, take a minute and have a listen here, it'll take you right back:)

Ok I get that this is the lamest of posts, but I'm heading to Dana Point this weekend and hoping for some very inspirational cooler weather:) the kind that makes me come alive and get all creative and what not:) because this gals brain in all burnt out...literally:(

A little kitchen remodel..... :)

So remember when I blogged about painting this cutie? Well after she was all painted and beautiful, I put her on the floor in the front bedroom and there she sat. A home without a home:( I just couldn't find the right space for her. And then I put my ole thinkin cap on and said hey! she could go in the back bedroom!

See her? See the cute little edge of her rooftop?

I pulled that table out of the garage, and put her on top of it. She's so proud to be out on display again:) I unpacked all her belongings and spent the day moving back in:)

I started with the kitchen. I asked for help from the bestest in the westest kitchen designer who just so happens to be my bestest in the westest hubby;) He knows his stuff I tell ya! Just check out his work on real kitchens!! Okay, truth be told you should have seen his face when I asked for his help! I think he answered something like- seriously? you're kidding right?

Okay, now for the big reveal.......

Adorable:)

Cuuute:)

Uh huh:)

Whew! This kitchen remodel went well into the night!

I'm gonna sit down and watch me some Olympics now:)

And I'm sooo going to treat myself to these cookies made by the devil himself:) They're evil. Pure delicious evil:)

What's in your bag?

Last week ,Denise from The Painted Home asked me to join in on her- What's in your bag? series. Since I'm a lucky gal who gets to frequent the beach so often, I agreed and thought I'd post it here for you all too:)  So.... here's a look see at what I throw on, and lug around in my beach bag:)
My beach bag- I bought it this summer at Hobie Surf shop in Dana Point. 20 bucks! I added the silk flower for some cuteness:)
My swimsuit- Wal Mart for $6 a piece! Score! I decided at the ripe ole age of 44 to take my friends genius advice- "if you can't tone it, TAN it!!"
My cover-up- Old Navy- I think it was $12? It's a 3/4 sleeve gauzy type dress and I love it!
My hat- Scala visor. Never leave home without it!
My other suit, the one I reeeally wear:)
Top from Downtown Basics $50- Splurge!
Bottoms- Wal Mart $6 same style different colors- I like to be able to mix it up!
Inside my bag I carry the essentials:)
Headhunter for my face. Banana Boat for my body and Burt's Bees for my lips:)

Yes. That's my towel! Target- $9.99 Hilarious, AND in my favorite color in all the land:)

Gotta have the snacks!!

My new beach chair:) Okay, seriously? I think Tommy Bahama is a gazillionaire from these chairs. EVERYONE had them at the beach! Costco- $25!

I love me some Pandora - Mindy Smith Radio…. the bestest in relaxing music:)

I rarely get in the water. Mostly because it's too cold. And maybe just a little bit because I swear that of all the people in the water, somehow, someway..... Jaws will get me. My theory is supported by the fact that, I can be sitting with my whole family and be the ONLY one feasted on by mosquitos. Just sayin.....
So I spend my days here:) In my sweet new beach chair. On the sand. Safe.
