It's UH-MAAAAAZING what a week off will do for your soul!!! This is our second year that we decided to stay home for the week between Christmas and New Years. Best week evah!! After un-decking the halls, and putting all that craziness in storage for another year, I got down to business:) It sure helped that the weather has been in the 70's! Feels more like Spring. And I guess that's why I did all kinds of crazy this week! For starters- I needed a new centerpiece for my dining room.
I always kinda get tripped up in this department. I'm a simple gal and I actually like to see and carry on a conversation with the person across the table:)
So something like that just really wouldn't work for me:) However the color of that car is fab!! Anyway, I asked the hubby to make me a box about yay long, by yay wide, by yay high. Yeah, I think that's really about how I said it:)
I found be some large Kerr jars ( I buy them by the case and use them for EVERYTHING!) and stuck em in the box. I bought a bag of sheet moss from Joanne and literally stuck it in all the cracks and crevices:)
No hot glue, no fuss, and no rules!!
Bought these unscented candles at Tarjay and stuck em in:)
I wrapped twine around the top of the jars a few times and tied it in a knot:)
Done and done:) My mom's coming over for din and GASP! We'll be able to leave the centerpiece on the table for dinner and not have to do that weird tilt your head to the side to see around the flowers nonsense!! Yay!!
Why am I working on my house so much? Weeell, I am once again (call me crazy!) going to do the Historic Home Tour this year:) I'm thinking it's going to be the last time for me. So if you want to have a look see, buy yer tickets!! The houses this year are reeally good, you don't want to miss it! Also, there will be a Flea Market out in front of my house, on the greenbelt where some fab people will be selling some fab stuff!!
