Itchin' for a kitchen.... :)

Just. Look. At. This. Fab. Kitchen.
I want it. Like yesterday.
Patience? I have none:(
You see, I like to cook. I really do.

But MAN! my kitchen in it's current state sucks the stinkin life out of me!
To say I'm uninspired is the understatement....
 of the century.

Just look at this beautifullness. Seriously, take it all in.
I love it:)
Too bad it's in someone else's kitchen:(

Yeah here's my pantry and my new fridge sans panels:(
I'm dying to get my cook on...and I try! I really do!
Like take for instance a few nights ago...

I reeeally wanted to make these tasty baked sweet potatoes that I saw on Pinterest.

And then I took a look at my sad, very neglected sweet potatoes... :(
Uh huh. Looks like somebody quit caring:(
And this pic just really sums it all up:(

Sooo needless to say.....

We ate frozen waffles for dinner. With peanut butter.
And it was superhealthyandI'llbesureandsharetherecipe not awesome :(
I need a new attitude kitchen........!!!

  1. I just know you'll have that kitchen ship shape in no time. Keep your chin up. :D The kitchen you're drooling over sure is pretty though. ;)

  2. You'll have your dream kitchen before you know it--hang in there. I want to know the make and model of your refrigerator. I'd like to get one like that (french door and panel ready). Where did you get it? I live in Gilbert, AZ so I'm not too far from you. Thanks in advance for the information.

    1. My fridge is KitchenAid. It's the second one I've bought! I love it:) I got it at Spencer's Appliance. There's one in Gilbert- ask for Kevin Rymer 623-202-7029, he'll know exactly what fridge you're talking about:)

  3. Based on your previous kitchen, your new one will look fabulous!

My mouth is watering looking at the Pinterest sweet potato and I have one sitting on the counter that looks pretty close to yours. So I went searching Pinterest for lunch. Is that the one with feta? Yum!

  7. I hope you were somewhat tongue in cheek about your current kitchen, given that it is better than what I have had for oh, 30 years.

  8. Ya know I always tell my husband that when you stop counting your blessings the universe will frown and blessings will stop flowing your way. My kitchen isn't glamous like the one you used to have in fact it looks similar to your current one. We gave it a little spruce up with painted cupboards, subway tile and new hardware because that's all we could afford but I am thrilled. I must say I realize you're used to high end loveliness but I am a bit offended that you can't see how lucky you are and count your blessings that you have a decent kitchen and will have a beautiful kitchen in a very short time, better than what most of us could ever have.

    1. Aww, c'mon...to say you're a bit offended is a tad harsh! I'm pretty sure Dorie counts her blessings daily! She has gone through a lot...just like most of us. And trust me...these pictures of her current kitchen don't do it justice. There's mold, a leaky faucet, nasty linoleum floors, broken cabinets, etc. I've seen it in person and I was like yikes!

  9. Dorie, I know that you will work your magic and have the prettiest kitchen out there in blogland very soon.
I cant wait to see your new stove in place. Its TDF!

I look forward to reading your blog every Tuesday! You are so funny and such a joy!

  10. Oh Dorie! You and I have the same taste in kitchen cuteness and while I don't have your budget I don't begrudge you anything! Rather, I love your blog for the way you share your ideas and show us all how to reuse, refurbish, restore, and make even the oldest & tiniest house into a home. You, my dear, are fun and amazing!

Now, about those waffles...I seriously thought that we Ellsworth's were the only people who put peanut butter on our pancakes and waffles! I've gotten many a strange look when I tell anyone about this tasty delight. Maple syrup and crunchy Adams is like heaven! I knew I loved you!
