I'm movin' on... :)

“Use what talents you possess, the woods will be very silent if no birds sang there except those that sang best.” -Henry van Dyke

Yes it's true. Call me crazy, insane, completely cuckoo. But I'm a sellin my beloved 1906 bungalow.

The hubby and I decided that while we LOVE this place like crazy, we LOVE rescuing old houses more. And there are SOOO many out there that need some lovin. Our kind of lovin:) Beautifying old houses is hands down, our favorite thing to do in the world:)

I'm really excited about the creative road ahead! There's no better feeling than finding the "eyesore" on the street and turning it into the eye catcher! Can't wait to tackle the next one!! :)

  1. Wow! I am in love with your home. I can't believe you are selling it but I know what you mean about loving to fix up older ones. We've done that before as well, but then decided to build ourselves a new one. I love it, but really am ready to sell and find an old one again! Ha! Good luck! I shared your post on FB. :)

  7. Oh my heart! How I wish I could buy that bungalow and settle right in on the front porch! You know I have a particular fondness for this house for a good reason and I hope It goes to someone who loves it as much as you do and doesn't change a thing. Will you still be in Mesa? I cannot wait to follow along!

  10. I love the photos of your home but am selfishly happy about your choice: as a first-time homeowner renovating an historic home in downtown Phoenix, I look forward to learning from your expert renovation in the next home you buy!

  12. Hi! I live in Riverton, NJ. I showed my husband your pictures and told him this is EXACTLY what I want. We have had plans to remodel our little home but we could not find any plans we LOVED. I stumbled across your blog one day and was like, "This is IT!" I wish I could put it on a flat bed and move it to NJ! Super excited for you and to see what you do next. You and your husband are so talented. I love that you bring life back to these homes. Good Luck!

  22. I just noticed your bed. How is it made? Is that just a blanket, cover under the folded comforter. At first glance I thought it was a bedskirt but then I see that might be your bed cover. Love the oatmeal color and just fullness of the skirt. What is it?

Good luck on your sell and new buy. How much fun will that be. Starting over is always fun. :)

  26. I was browsing realtor.com because I'm weird like that and I saw your house for sale. I was like "What the HECK is Dorie doing? I better hop over to her blog and see!". So I did. I don't know how I missed this posting. Anyways, I get it. I'm almost finished redoing my house and I'm bored. What are you supposed to do with all your time if all the house projects are finished? Best of luck finding the next old house! I hope it's close so I can drive by and admire like a stalker.
