The best medicine.... :)

I love to laugh.
Especially at myself.
And most especially with Rio:)

Nothing has made me laugh harder than some of our ebay purchases gone bad.
You know, the ones with the really fine print that we
apparently can't see??

Like this one time, we thought it would be really cool to mount
mannequin arms to old silver trays and hang them on a wall for holding
necklaces and such.
Sooo, Rio called all excited one day and said that we won
a lot of 25 mannequin arms!! We couldn't WAIT to open the box when
they came and get our craft on...

Well, we won the arms alright!
But NO HANDS!!!
Yeah, that was a whole other auction.

Who in the world sells
just mannequin arms???!!!??
And who in the world bus them??
We do.
AAAHAHAHAHAAAA!!!

Fast forward to this last Sunday.
We got home from Cali on Friday, and we decided to
do some things around the house.
I asked the hubby to hang my curtains that I got
on ebay. I left to get my nails done and he
sent me a text saying we have a problem...

What in the world??!!??!!
AAAAHAHAHAHAAAAA!!!!!
I couldn't stop laughing. Like when you get the
giggles in church laughing.
WHO sells a "pair" of curtains like that??!!
Most importantly..
who BUYS them??!!?!
Me. I do.

Oh how I wish I had a pic of the one time I "won" a landscape picture
with a cow in it, and when it arrived....
it was dollhouse size.
Awesome Dorie. Just awesome.

Please tell me I'm not alone with these ridiculous  purchases,
it would make me feel a whole lot better about myself!!!
(insert crying laughing face)

**do you love how I STILL have the ruined rug?? hahaha!!
I finally tossed it yesterday, much to Little Bully's dismay:(

  2. Uh yeah. Just this week I thought I was buying the dvd The Sandlot on ebay, only to realize I bought some sequel that nobody wants! Hmmm... maybe that's why it was only 99 cents:)

  3. This post had me peeing my pants...it's okay to say that, right?!

  5. Oh, thank you for my early morning laugh!! It's happened to me, too. I collected vintage sock monkeys (my collection has reached it's limit) for a number of years. I found a vintage "baby" sock monkey that I thought was adorable and showed it to my hubby. He bought it as part of a gift for me and we laughed 'till we cried when I opened it. The photo made it look about the size of a normal sock monkey, but I guess we forgot to read the small print. It was 3 inches tall.

Good luck with the curtains. hehe

  6. My sister-in-law wanted a new hammock and she already had the stand. So she looked online and found one she really liked and ordered it. When it came and she opened the box, it was an art print of a hammock. We got a good laugh out of it! And she learned to read the fine print.

  8. I love your sense of humor. Hey, maybe you could order a chair from ebay to place in front of the shorter curtain. ; )

    1. The chair might come with only three legs!

  10. I know it has happened to the best of us-we think we are buying a great item until we get it. It just happened to me at Christmas. Thought I was buying a larger tabletop ping-pong game from World Market-got it and it was small! Probably would have cost more to ship back to them. I gave it away!
You can always hem the longer side and it would look great...unless you like the long version!

  11. You crack me up! I think we should start a mannequin arm softball league. I think they would make great bats!

  12. A few years ago I was scheduled for a surgery and would have about a three week recovery. I bought several books from Amazon. I found one of the ones I wanted on Ebay for the incredible price of $2.99, no shipping charges! It was coming from the UK so I was glad I ordered it a month early. All of my other books came and I waited patiently for the beautiful hard cover book I'd bought from this UK seller. A month went by, I was ready for my surgery and still no book; so I sent an email to the seller asking politely where my book was. They asked me to check my Email because it was a PDF downloadable book and had been sent the day after I ordered it! Ooops! (I think it was kinda sketchy too because it has all kinds of mis-spelled words and typos in it, but for $2.99...)

  15. I actually just bought a pair of silk pink drapes for my daughters bedroom. When I went to hang them they looked exactly like yours!!!! I emailed the seller to see if she just made a mistake and she said she never used them so assumed they we're the right size... I only paid $6.00 for them so it was no big deal and the shorter drape was hidden by my daughter's dresser so I kept them. But I obviously can totally relate,

  16. LOLOLOLOL!!!

It is a good thing that you can laugh about these things rather than be upset.
Yup, you have a problem fo sho. Looks like "Mini Me" curtains.

Give Wallace a hug from me. Have you seen the Bully pups over at Dreamy Whites blog?
I told my hubs that because of Wallace, I would entertain the thought of getting a Bully.

  17. I do this all the time. But really is fine print really necessary??? If you're gonna sell odd things say "as is." I love your blog and following you now.
