What if.... :)

What if you were born in the desert
....but your heart longed for the sea?

What if you could live your vacation...

What if what you dreamed about all your life
....could finally come true?

Would you do it?
Like really DO IT?????

For as long as I've known my sweet hubby, he has dreamed of living
by the beach. A dream shared by me and the kiddies:)
 And soooo...
We're gonna...

DO IT.
!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yep. We're selling this place that we love and heading to
....Carpinteria, CA :)

*I'll post pics next week of the completed bathroom and house,
and the deets on an upcoming open house:)

  4. How exciting! Congrats to you and your family!!! I don't really have a dream like that because I love where I live. I have lived in this area all my life and have so many family and friends here - I don't think I could ever leave. ROOTS.

  7. How exciting! Dreams do come true! I am so happy to hear of your plans to move to the beach!
I live where I would vacation! In Florida! I can ride my bike to the beach! We are so lucky to live in this Paradise on the east coast! We have property in the North Carolina mountains, too!
The very best of both worlds! I cannot wait to see the new place when you start to make it your own!

  9. Very excited for you!
We followed our dreams and moved from the hustle and bustle of No. Calif (Bay Area) to the California Central Coast and have not looked back. It's the best decision we ever made!!
All the little bungalows looking for love in AZ. will miss your talents, but new adventures and projects await you at the beach. Welcome to California!!!!

  12. As I read your post, I was preparing my comment to say that my husband and I are living our vacation. In all of our years of marriage, the farthest we have lived from the water is 1 mile. In 1997, we decided that 1 mile away was too far and we moved to the beach.

Imagine my surprise when you told me your destination. We lived in the Ventura Keys when we first moved to Ventura and now we live on one of the lanes at Pierpont.

Have you already found your house?

  14. That's awesome Dorie! This will be a big adventure for you guys! It's hard to make a change like that when you've lived one place all your life, but change is good! Once you embrace the possibility, it becomes so exciting; as this move I recently made to Las Vegas has proven to be. The new friends, the new places, etc. Can't wait to hear how it turns out!

  19. Oh, that is fantastic!!! We lived in Ventura for 15 years (my son was born there). Unfortunately, aging parents required us to move to New York. How we miss Ventura, I would move back there in a heartbeat!!! You are going to absolutely love it - can't wait to follow you on this exciting adventure!

I don't blame you for wanting to move close to the ocean. Sounds like a dream! Looking forward to following you on this exciting journey.
